USAID Project:
The Bantwana Initiative of World
Education is implementing the USAID’s Better Outcomes for Children and Youth in
Eastern and Northern Uganda program—a $24.5 million program with a large sub
grant component. The Program is being implemented across 13 districts in
Eastern and Northern Uganda. Better Outcomes works with families, communities,
Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Local Government and the private sector to
address the long-term, comprehensive needs of vulnerable children and families
through improved OVC service delivery.
Job Summary: The Field
Assistants will be responsible for supporting field activities for the USAID
Better Outcomes for Children and Youth program in Eastern and Northern Uganda.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
- The incumbents will be responsible for the mobilization and sensitization of community and care givers for meetings
- Actively participate in Community outreaches whenever possible.
- Expeditiously follow-up on OVC cases and referrals (carrying out targeted follow up and monitoring of OVC, and their households)
- Responsible for data collection, documentation and presentation, and writing success stories
- Writing reports on the activities; support technical team in generating information for annual reports
- Ensuring a proper filing system of all tools and OVC information collected and keep properly updated OVC files
- Perform any other duties / roles as required by the Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
- The ideal candidates for the USAID OVC Project jobs should hold a Degree/ diploma in Social Work and Social Administration, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Statistics, Quantitative Economics
- At least one year of relevant experience in community work
- Proven skills in team working, networking, facilitation and strategic thinking
- Possess the ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
- Knowledge of the local languages will be an added advantage (Lusoga, Acholi,Langi, Lugisu, Adhola)
