1. COMMERCIAL MANAGER - PRINT
Reports to: GENERAL MANAGER - COMMERCIAL
Job Purpose: To formulate, coordinate and implement the strategic commercial plans to grow advertising revenue and market share of Monitor Publications Limited.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop the Digital Business strategy and sales plans to ensure profitability of all digital platform Design & implement strategies that grow ALL the sectors customers base and retention and drive revenue growth.
- Conduct regular Business Managers meetings to review sales progress and provide leadership to ensure the highest degree of retention, morale and discipline.
- Maintain close liaisons with top notch customers, including agencies and grow both revenues and market share for MPL.
- Liaise with the Managing Editors (Print & Digital) to ensure rich Editorial content that will drive circulation and advertising revenues.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or sales management.
- Professional qualification or Post graduate diploma in relevant field e.g. CIM
- At least 5 years of relevant sales experience in an FMCG industry, with at least 2 years at management level
- Computer literacy especially in PowerPoint, Word and Spreadsheets.
- Ability to develop and communicate a clear strategy with strong customer focus
- Strong Proposal writing skills, business acumen & results oriented attitude
- Strong communication skills (oral & written)
- Strong interpersonal & coaching skills
2.BUSINESS MANAGER - ADVERTISING
Reporting to: COMMERCIAL MANAGER - PRINT
Job Purpose:
To design, develop and implement a sales strategy that will ensure that the business achieves its revenue and collection targets for the assigned sector and to manage the performance of the sales teams.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design & implement strategies that will generate customer growth and retention across all sectors and drive revenue growth.
- Design work plans that exploit the market place and guide the sales teams in their day today sales activities.
- Track the sales team performance on a daily, weekly and monthly and regularly communicate the status of their performance.
- Conduct regular sales meetings with teams to review sales progress and provide good leadership to ensure the highest degree of retention, morale and discipline.
- Mentor and coach the teams and regularly carry our performance management reviews as per Monitor Publications Ltd guidelines.
- Carry out regular client lists reviews with Business Executives to focus recruitment of potential clients.
- Ensure Sales contracts are in place with the appropriate clients and identify their associates and follows up and resolves any complaints.
- Maintains close liaison with relevant departments and makes monthly sales and collection reports to the Commercial Manager.
- Liaise with the Editor- Trade & Finance on all PR related issues pertaining to agency related clients, follow up on the same with relevant parties to ensure customer service.
- Achieve and exceed regularly the agreed KPIs:
- Sales:100%
- Collection: 60%
- Make good Levels: 0.2% of revenue.
- Credit Notes: 0.2% of revenue
- Deadlines Control: Zero tolerance.
- Customer Service: 24 hour turn around for resolution of complaints.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in any businessrelated course or equivalent business or sales management. Post graduate qualifications will be an added advantage
- At least 3 years of relevant sales experience in FMCG industry as well as proven experience in meeting targets and leading people
